Diamonds are Forever

Returned last night from two enjoyable days in the diamond mining township of Oranjemund. (NAMDEB = Namibia & DeBeers partnership)

Oranjemund, 8-9 July 2015: Conducted Market Research (Barbara Rugen, photo), Selling Basics (Steven Link) and Tendering Requirements (Nicolaas Links, photo) trainings for current and future entrepreneurs at the invitation of the NCCI branch. There were 34 attendees and we were hosted by the NAMDEB Foundation in their facilities.

We were very well cared for. The Garnet Guesthouse was clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast and service were excellent.  We also had the pleasure of meeting some distinguished leadership in the Oranjemund business community including:

  • Israel Kalenga, local NCCI  Branch president
  • Ivan Pheko, NCCI Branch secretary
  • Janita von Weiligh, NAMDEB Foundation Executive Director
  • Tony Bessinger, Head, Town Transformation Project

The attendees and leaders seemed to be genuinely pleased with both days of training. Plans are underway to return in August to expand on the training topics and present new topics based on attendee feedback.
