…that much of the population struggles mightily to leap these formidable hurdles:
- a history of foreign occupation that manifests in a profound desire for national independence and self-rule,
- an ongoing history of foreign domination and economic exploitation of the people that has resulted in vast natural resources leaving the country…taking with them enormous wealth,
– an even longer history of tribalism that continues to thwart integration and cooperation among constantly competing ethnic groups,
– a physical climate and environment that slows progress due to heat, drought, flooding, and a desert that separates the most habitable areas from the rich resources of the Atlantic Ocean and Namibia’s long coastline.
