Our friends and relatives are consistently wanting to know “Where will you be living? What are the accommodations like? What exactly will you be doing?” Our answers are consistently “Dunno. Dunno. Dunno.” Until we are in Namibia next month and have begun two months of training, we will not know the answers. I know that is unusual. When someone makes the kind of commitment that a PC volunteer does one would expect to be told these things before going in. The fact is that we are PCT’s (PC Trainees) not PCV’s until we pass our training courses and have our Swearing In Ceremony. People also asked “What if you don’t like it?” It is a job and one can quit or ask for a transfer. So, we remain open and flexible without prejudice.
